Not Anymore 03:08
I'm the son and I deserve Not much of anything. The ideas marked by words, They do not even win. And the maps I traced with joy Will turn to color fear When the suitcase that I packed Will rot and disappear. Keep those heels and stairs of steel for you. Keep those heels and stairs of steel for you. Keep those heels and stairs of steel for you. They won't have a use,... Not anymore. Mind was only getting spoiled With countries I have seen. Telling everyone I would, Then I didn't even leave. If I just could tell them why They would not disagree Because the best things in life Will never be for free. Leave those heels and stairs of steel for you. Leave those heels and stairs of steel for you. Leave those heels and stairs of steel for you. They won't be serving, not,... Not anymore. Now, pick it up! Leave those heels and stairs for you. Leave those heels and stairs,...

On the mountain tops; There, it's always white,... Vegetation, pure air, tunnels, passes. Rivers down the valley, Cows with bells attached, Evergreen grass, there's a bed of water. Oh, I'd give you anything To bring me back home. Just about anything: Bring me back home. I can't fly and I can't swim So, please,... Bring me back home. Yes, I rolled down the prairies; Ate melted cheese too. I even crossed the Alps So I could see all of you. There the pigeons, tiles and bridges Made me feel like a man. The beauty of the houses said: "This is my native land!" Oh, I'd give you anything To bring me back home. Just about anything: Bring me back home. I can't fly and I can't swim So, please,... Bring me back home. Oh, I crossed the Alps to see all of you. Yeah, I crossed the Alps so I could see all of you. Oh, but I would cross the Alps so I could see all of you. Yeah, I crossed the Alps so I could see all of you, all of you, oh,...

When I saw your eyes, I measured. I got immunized By failure. What the times brought me: Conviction. What the times brought you: It's joyous. Avoiding the word love, But we can't hide it. Inside a shell with pearls, Just sinking. And then I caught you, You were smiling,... Just thinking, just thinking, just thinking,... Remember back when we Were happy, And even back then we Were just thinking. There is a catch to life,... Well,...Never. What others might have thought: It's better. Avoiding the word love, We can't hide it. Inside a shell with pearls, Just sinking. And then I caught you smiling,... Just thinking, just thinking, just thinking,.. Aw, give it up! Give it up!

Why d'you go out with your friends? Oh, they want you To be with them So you can jump on top of walls And touch the sand That burns your hand. Lie,... Go play in the courtyard. Crack a smile, Stay outside. Lie,... Just play in the courtyard. Crack a smile, Stay outside. Stay outside. The game is easy, you succeed So you go hide behind the weeds. They call your name, you know you're caught, No, it's your mom, she loves you lots. So you have to go home,... No, you have to go home,... Go home,... Lie,... Go play in the courtyard. Crack a smile, Stay outside. Lie,... Just stay in the courtyard. Crack a smile, Stay outside. Stay outside!

Obsessions of old Trying to haunt me. I got stuck With the past. It came here Hand delivered As a souvenir Made in brass. Well, his antique thoughts: It's no shame, no shame, no shame, no shame, no shame, no,... He kept the key Very distant In his last hour Of existence. Reclined in my arms Strangely confident Because the words Gave the evidence of,... His antique thoughts: Showing no shame, it's no shame, it's no shame, it's no shame,...

The Chapel 03:43
Do you remember going up that hill Carrying your bread home, Walking up quite slow? Marble spot into the old rock With a saint inside; Seeing the hands that rise,... Hey! The chapel,... The chapel,... Hoping that you'll stop. The chapel,... It's the chapel,... Say a prayer in your mind And you will be blessed forever. Now, forever, and ever, forever, never,... The chapel,... The chapel,... Hoping that you'll stop. The chapel,... It's the chapel,... Say a prayer to the sky And you will be blessed forever.

Happen 04:48
Seven seasons in the arches Into a world where fun and pleasant smiles Happen, happen. In the house you'll stay On the white floor tiles. Give me a wake up call, But not too early No, not too soon. Seven reasons not to live with Some tragedies in the arches Happen, happen. Oh, in the house you'll stay On the white floor tiles. Give me a wake up call, But not too early Or not too soon. Seven seasons,... Perfect reasons,... In the arches, ah! Will always, always, always, always happen. Will always, always, always, always happen, happen. Will always, always, always, always happen right here, hey! Happen, happen,...

Ancient cities,... We got found Just by digging Underground. Columns stayed Where they fell Showing us things We don't know well, hey,... Rusted dust atop,... Rusted dust atop,... Rusted dust, rusted dust, rusted dust,... On top of you. Ancient ruins We passed by Without seeing A million times. We do it by will, It's not easy: Take out dirt, Dig out pieces. Rusted dust atop,... Rusted dust atop,... Rusted dust, rusted dust, rusted dust,... On top of you. We passed by,... Two, three, four!

about

Previously only available on cassette copies distributed by Mark Earnest's Horne Recordings And Philosophy, this revamped version of Dynamo Stairs' first release is remastered from a mini-disc copy of the authentic reels. The recording sessions were booked at Franklin Flint's Ice-Cream Studios in Las Cruces during the 1987/88 winter break and lasted 5 days. Thirty years later, the 'Deluxe Edition' includes the 5 original 'Patrimony' tracks, plus 3 songs recorded during the studio sessions that were intended to appear on a future Beyond Faith record which never came out. The songs, also previously performed live with Beyond Faith (David Liso on bass, Joe Martinez on guitar and Lara Liso on drums) are 'The Chapel', 'Happen' and 'Ancient Ruins'.
